How we measure levels

We measure speaking.

Alpha Korean places every student on a 10-step speaking scale. Roughly:

AKC 0–1 Hangul and your first words

AKC 2–3 Survival Korean — ordering, directions, introductions

AKC 4–5 Holding a conversation for more than two turns

AKC 6–7 Speaking on a topic, giving an opinion

AKC 8–9 Business and academic Korean
